Summary: Daiki never gets tired of showing Tsumeko his love.
When it came to wooing his love, Fujimori Tsumeko, Kaito Daiki liked to take a page out of her father, Jiro’s, book as opposed to taking hints from Tsumeko’s brothers, Satoru and Mitsuhide. When Daiki saw the way Jiro treated his wife, Yuri, Daiki had decided that was how he wanted to treat Tsumeko: Like a queen. Daiki showered Tsumeko with love, affection, adoration, attention and whatever else he could think of as a show of his devotion to her.
To Daiki’s utter surprise, he was not rebuffed, but Tsumeko seemed to open herself up to him and they fell in love.
Thanks to Jiro’s encouragement, Daiki kept coming up with new ideas to thrill and delight his young love and today was no different. Today, they were going on a picnic.
“We could have just stayed in the gardens and had a picnic, you know.” Tsumeko said as she and he walked through the grounds of Castle Doran.
“That would be too easy, darling.” Daiki replied with a cheerful smile. "I thought I should spice things up a little. So, I’m taking you to a place where we’d have more privacy. That castle still belongs to Misako and her family. I wouldn’t want us to be interrupted.”
“I do like the idea of us being alone.” Tsumeko admitted, leaning into her lover and letting him kiss her briefly before they continued. “It always seems like Akane and Masao are around us… and I don’t like Masa.”
“It kind of shows, you know.” He said. “And well, I want to be alone with you without having to worry about your dad walking in on us and taking my head off.”
“Dad is not going to take your head off.”
“I don’t know that.”
“You worry too much.” Tsumeko smiled softly. “Dad likes you… even if he doesn’t trust you very much.”
“Well, I was a thief…” A pause. “Ah! We’re here!”
“We’re where?”
“Come.” They ducked under some trees and Tsumeko found herself on the banks of a large lake well hidden among the large forest surrounding the castle. “What do you think, darling? Do you like it?”
“It’s quite secluded.” Tsumeko remarked, taking the scenery in.
“That’s the idea.” Daiki moved forward to set up their picnic and Tsumeko kind of hung back, content to lean against a tree and watch him for a little while. She smiled at him, and then came when he beckoned for her, holding up a bento.
“Don’t you want to taste what I’ve made, Tsume?”
There was a comfortable silence as they began to eat what had been prepared: tempura, rice balls and some sushi he’d made.
“Daiki, who taught you to cook?” She asked, breaking the silence.
“Oh, believe it or not, Masao. He is… well versed in many talents.”
Tsumeko suddenly became wary of the rice ball she was holding.
“He just taught me.” Daiki offered her a piece of tempura. “I actually made all of this myself. Here. Try this.”
She opened her mouth and let him feed her some shrimp, thoughtfully chewing. “Okay, so at least I know he didn’t actually touch anything I put in my mouth…”
“Why do you hate him so much? Masao’s very nice.”
“Because he’s a Kurenai. And a flirt.”
“…Who’s in love with your sister and puts her on a pedestal. He even showed me the slippers he had made for her.”
Tsumeko really didn’t want to talk about Masao anymore than she had to, so she took drastic action to shut up her boyfriend. Carefully, she placed, the bento aside, stood up and ran into the lake… taking off all of her clothes as she did so. She was wearing a basic two-piece: black boy shorts and a little pseudo-tank top and it was all very cute.
Daiki’s mouth fell open.
Tsumeko couldn’t help but giggle.
Daiki stared as he watched Tsumeko swim in the lake. This woman was absolutely spellbinding. He knew that he was head over heels in love with her. But for some reason, he could not make himself get up and follow her.
Suddenly, as she began to come back to him, he made himself move and before she could blink, he was in the water with her. The water was warm from the sunshine, although not as warm as the taste of Tsumeko’s lips on his. Tsumeko tasted warm, spicy and sweet, kind of like ginger. They kissed, treading water and trying to keep as close together as they could. They pressed their warm bodies together, the sunshine warm on their wet skin.
“It’s a bit deep.” Daiki murmured.
“Yes, but we don’t have to stay here and go for a swim.” Tsumeko suggested, the closeness of their bodies inflaming her Wolfen urges. It had been a while since she and Daiki had made love… and some Wolfen considered it unnatural to go so long without satisfying the urge for carnal pleasure. “We could always resume our picnic on the beach.”
Somehow, Daiki was convinced that they wouldn’t do much eating once they got out. He gave her another warm kiss as they moved into shallower water. They kind of floated in the water for a while; Tsumeko accidentally revealing to Daiki the little DiEnd symbol on her ankle. Daiki leaned forward and gave the small dark blue marking a little kiss and a nip. Daiki had retired from being Kamen Rider DiEnd, but Tsumeko had decided to go and get his symbol on her own.
Once they were lying on the beach again, Tsumeko managed to wrap herself up in a spare blanket and lay on the warm sand, letting the sun dry her off. She stared into the distance with a dreamy, almost far off look in her eyes and Daiki came to lie beside her, his wet fingers tracing patterns on her arm.
“Daiki?” She asked, her voice sounding oddly vulnerable. “You’re not going to leave me right?” The thought ha been on her mind for a while, especially when one took into consideration what had happened between Daiki’s “friend” (even Daiki himself used the term loosely), Kadoya Tsukasa and Tsumeko’s sister in law, Nobori Misako. Tsukasa had up and vanished, effectively abandoning Misako. Tsumeko worried that Daiki would do the same.
“Why would you ask me that?” Daiki asked.
“Because you’re mercurial.” Her voice had a vulnerability to it, softness he wasn’t aware had been there before. “And I don’t want you to leave me.”
“Why would I leave?” Daiki asked. He was surprised. “I like it here. Here… it feels like home.”
“Because Tsukasa left Misako and he told us how you’d flip alliances without rhyme, reason or care. Do you even know what loyalty or love or affection are?” Tsumeko looked at him, trying not to let her fear override her judgment.
“I did…once.” He thought of Haruka. “…But then someone took all of that away from me.” He looked at her, and began to touch her again. His touch was soft, gentle and he sighed softly. “I don’t want to lose it all again, so I keep people at arm’s length… but you… you’re special… beautiful… you’re someone I want to have close. I like being with you. You make me believe in love again.” A pause. “And Tsukasa’s a liar. I stayed here with you and he abandoned Misako. You shouldn’t give someone like that too much credit.”
Tsumeko almost didn’t want to believe what he’d just said.
At her unblinking stare, Daiki chose to confess further. “Tsumeko… I love you.”
“You don’t mean that.” She snapped. A beat. “Do you?”
Internally, Daiki sighed and vowed to kill Tsukasa if he ever saw him again. He knew exactly what this was about. “Yes. I do mean it.” He’d only ever said it to one other woman and he had meant it then, too. Daiki touched her face, brushing the wet black strands away. “I’m not a heartless person.”
She wanted to believe him. She truly did, but she hung back, still scared.
He looked at her carefully, examining her face. “What are you afraid of?”
“Being hurt.”
He suddenly remembered the story about her parents and suddenly it drove it home for him in a way he didn’t quite expect. He understood her fear now.
“Tsume-chan…” He moved a little closer. “…I love you and if you love someone, you don’t just up and leave them. I could never do that. I will never do that.” He then rolled over and managed to find his DiEnd card among his clothes. He handed it to Tsumeko. “Take this as proof. I know it’s not as…”
Her kiss effectively shut him up. “You talk way too much, Daiki.” She murmured with a coy smile.
That smile made his heart speed up and he kissed her back, the two of them rolling around on the warm sand until she was on top and smirking.
“I should have known you’d like it on top.” He teased.
Her eyes slowly began to shift to a golden tint. “Give me time.” She purred. “You’ll find out that I like a lot of things.”
He couldn’t wait to find out.
