Summary: Tsumeko realizes that she likes Daiki
One of the things Fujimori Tsumeko found she liked about being with Kaito Daiki was hand holding. Nothing made her happier for some reason or another, than to walk along with him and for them to hold hands. Tsumeko never thought she would meet Daiki, fall for him and suddenly feel like she was soaring across the sky. But then, the fates had dropped Daiki in her lap and she suddenly understood how Akane, her twin sister, felt about Masao.
“I never thought you’d be big on hand holding, Tsume.” Daiki remarked one night as the two went for a walk outside of Castle Doran, admiring the moonlit gardens and the lake and each other. “I mean, you look so…”
“There’s more to me than most people think.” Tsumeko murmured. “There is a woman in here… I can be soft. I just… I’m just a bit rough. “ She smiled and Daiki knew she wasn’t kidding, but h liked that roughness. He liked how she was dramatic and artistic and lively and tomboyish. Tsumeko wasn’t like the girls back home. She wasn’t like Natsumi… she was something different. He liked that.
“I like that you’re so layered and kind of mysterious, and sweet and…” Daiki’s voice trailed off. “Well, I just like you. Is that okay?”
She raised an eyebrow at this, but said nothing. That was okay, yes, but she wasn’t sure what she could say in response, so she squeezed his hand and they continued walking along. Suddenly, she could hear a song playing in the background. It was an old Namie Amuro song, “My Love”. Just as Namie’s smooth, rich voice began to sing, “You’re my love…” Daiki chose that moment to kiss her.
As the song played on, they kissed for the first time and Tsumeko felt like she was floating in space. She could have sworn she saw starts floating past.
Daiki broke the kiss gently, and he took note of the slight flush on her cheeks. “Did I upset you?”
“No.” She shook her head. “I liked that….” A smirk. “Do it again.”
Daiki kissed her again and Tsumeko found she rather liked that floating feeling. She liked the feeling of Daiki’s tall, lean frame pressed against hers and his arms around her. His skin felt warm and she inhaled his warm scent, which reminded her of warm green tea and open air.
And just like that, Fujimori Tsumeko found something she liked more than hand holding… kissing.
