Summary: Wataru and Taiga spend time with their young son and newborn daughter.
“I’m home!” Taiga announced, only to be ambushed by the sound of pitter-pattering little feet and then he saw his young son, Masao hug his legs.
“Welcome home, Papa!” Masao cried. “Daddy, Papa’s home!”
“Hello, Taiga.” Wataru came out of the kitchen with a smile. “You’re home early.”
Taiga picked Masao up with little effort. “Of course, I’m home early. I’m nursing.”
“I did not need to hear that.” Wataru muttered.
“So, where is she?” Taiga asked. “Where’s our little Queen?”
“She’s napping.” Wataru replied, prying their son off Taiga’s legs. “Although you don’t need to feed her… at least not now. But you are just in time for lunch.”
“Am I?” Taiga asked.
“Yes.” Wataru lifted up Masao and he led them into the kitchen for lunch.
Just as Taiga was working on his pasta, he heard the cry of Misako waking up from her nap.
“Oh, I’ll get her.” Wataru said as he got up from the table, but Taiga stopped him.
“I think she’s hungry or needs a change.” Taiga said. “I’ll get her.” He got up from the table and then headed into the purple nursery where the 2-month-old Misako was screaming her head off.
“There’s my Little Queen.” Taiga soothed, scooping up Misako and soothing her. “It’s all right. Papa’s here.” He did some checking and found that Misako was clean and dry and then, he decided to attempt feeding her.
He picked up Misako and carried her into the bedroom he shared with Wataru before settling her down and opening up his button down shirt.
Taiga hadn’t told anyone that he was nursing, aside from Wataru and his doctors. His doctors had advised him to nurse as often as he could. Since he had his job, he didn’t get to do it often, but now, he was going to.
“It’s all right, Misako.” Taiga soothed as he got his shirt and the nursing bra he had been wearing off and picked her up. “I bet you’re hungry.” Remembering what he read in the books and mostly instinct, he placed Misako against his chest and then sighed in relief when she made contact and began to suckle.
Wataru came in at that nanosecond and he stared for a moment. “I told you it didn’t hurt.” Wataru said as he came to sit beside him.
“You’re right about how this makes me feel closer to our daughter. Now I know how you felt when you were nursing Masao.”
Wataru couldn’t help his chuckle and he kissed Taiga on the cheek. “When you’re done, why don’t you come out and play with Masao for a bit? I can watch our Princess.”
“Why don’t you bring Masao to me?” Taiga suggested. “I don’t get to spend much time with him or Little Queen.”
“Well, I’ll wait until you’re finished.” Wataru said as Misako detached and stretched out, her tiny body wriggling. “It was bad enough trying to talk him out of explaining that he can’t say we have babies in his preschool class…”
Misako was burped and changed and then Taiga brought her out to the living room and sat her in her swing chair next to the dining room table.
“Papa!” Masao came out with some paper and his finger paints. “Can I paint? Can I?”
“Sure thing, Masao.” Taiga let Masao spread out on the table and even joined in with the finger painting.
Wataru came into the room just in time to see his son and his lover laughing and panting with their fingers, clearly enjoying every moment of creating their artwork.
“Daddy!” Masao spotted him and gave a cheerful wave, getting paint all over Taiga. “Come paint with us!”
Wataru, laughing at the image of the paint splattered Taiga, gladly came over and got a sheet of paper and began to paint with his son and his lover.
“I’m happy.” Taiga murmured as he listed to Masao happily paint and then leaned in to give Wataru a kiss. “I have you and I have our babies. What more could a King desire?”
“Another son?” Wataru teased.
“No.” Taiga said. “I may go down as the only King in history who wants this, but if we ever were to have another child… I would like another little girl.”
“Why?” Wataru asked as he drew some pink paint across his paper.
“I don’t know…” Taiga confessed. “Just because.”
“Can Misako come paint, too, Daddy?” Masao suddenly asked.
“Maybe when she’s older, Masao.” Wataru said, only to find black paint splattered on his face.
Taiga chuckled and as he watched Wataru and their son, his heart swelled with a deep love and affection he’d never thought he would ever get to feel and here, with his happy little family…
Nobori Taiga, the Fangire King, finally felt complete.
