I'm trying to decide if I can qualify myself as accident-prone or not. In the past I've been very fortunate, with very few major things including:
1) In first grade when I wiped out on a playground while playing whiplash and got myself dragged at least 10ft accross the blacktop - yielding the nastiest road rash I ever had on my knees.
2) A few awesome bruises that I got both from playing baseball as a kid and paintballing in high school/college. Also randomness from whenever I manage to ram into things on the ship (as the hallways are narrow and crowded w. equipment this happens a lot, usually I don't even remember where the various bruises came from).
3) My only ever broken bone, a greenstick fracture that I got in 4th grade while playing four-square.
4) The issues I had both in high school and college w. recurring gimpyness (minor sprains and tendonitis) in both my ankles and my knees.
5) Spraining my wrist in college playing dodgeball.
6) Possibly my coolest injury ever where I slipped in a bathtub at home and put my knee through the bottom of it - shredded my knee but good yet I can still brag about it even to this day because I broke the quarter inch fiberglass tub the patch repairing it is still there:-P
The last week however has been particularly bad because I:
a) Wiped out bigtime Thursday night while running with my cousin for PT and managed to shred the crap out of my right palm and left knee, and minorly damaged the other palm and knee. Thankfully only 1/2 mile from my apartment and there was a clinic on the way back that kindly donated me gause and tape. On the side, it is indeed a sad society we live in where the nice lady who helped me at the clinic had to ask "now I didn't treat you right?" because she was giving me this stuff off the books and I had to explain to her that I would be about the last PERSON ON EARTH to sue her for being a good samaritan...
b) I hit my head two times pretty badly on the ship.
c) On Friday I both succeeded in running my thumb-tip through with a pin while preparing an inspection uniform (the white uniform, of course) and then found after the inspection that the bandaging on my knee was insufficient as it continued to bleed through things for the next 18 hours...miraculously I didn't get any stains in my white uniform from either injury!
I think my conclusion is that while I'm not totally accident prone, on the rare occasions where I do hurt myself it usually happens in a spectacular and highly inconvenient manner...
Oh yeah I just went to the dentist and as my birthday present this year, I get to have my final wisdom tooth removed next Monday! *GLEE!!!*
