Time Stops for No One...

Ahh yes time to update the long-neglected journal! For those who are wondering why I've been out of touch for so long, I refer you to the title above...in the past month on numerous occasions I have found myself thinking "wait! Slow down!" - stupid time, never listening to me...

So to summarize the whirlwind of activity that has occured since my last update, I will begin with a summary of things that are now in the past tense:

Nine of us crazy RPI folk went to Montreal - in spite of numerous frayed tempers and nerves by the end of the trip (due in part to the selective sleep deprivation of many of us), trip was a resounding success. Fun was had by all. Needing to use your room key card to get special access to the floor you're staying on is super-cool. Thereby getting special access to the roof-top lounge with free food and coffee machine 24-7 is even better. The Jello Bar is an awesome martini place/general hangout in Montreal - I encourage all who go to check it out! My personal favorite was the lychee martini.

I went to RPI and graduated with my B.S. in AERO Engineering. I graduated Magna Cum Laude which got my name in a special place in the program (w00t). The weekend with all my family in Troy was fun/hectic/stressful as anticipated.

I was in RPI's ROTC program. Now I am a Commissioned Officer - a bonafide Ensign in the U.S. Navy. Words can't describe how wierd it is to have our intimidating Gunnery Sergeant calling me "ma'am" now! As an Ensign I'm working in Troy at the ROTC Unit - a really easy job though now we're painting a huge mural of my design so since I'm the only artist amongst us my job just got a little harder. Harder, but in that good/fun/challenging sense of the word if such a thing exists;-) Staying at Chi Phi is fun because all the guys are like "wow did you know there's a GIRL living on the second floor and further they have a rocking gas stove so I get to cook! Yay!

I got my first Navy Officer paycheck this week! Yay again!

My Mom and Dad just bought another Grand Cherokee Laredo at a steal for me - higher mileage but in great shape for its age - accident free too!

So to sum it all up - life has been hectic lately with more craziness to come. My baby brother graduates from high school and receives his Eagle Scout award in the next few weeks. I get to buy my car, set up insurance and register it in that time. Eventually I will be heading to my first real duty station - though whether I am going to Everett WA right away, meeting the ship in Bath ME, or going to a precommissioned ship training school in San Diego is still up in the air! If there's one thing I've learned about the Navy it's that it is more spontaneous than even the most spur of the moment people that I know!

OK now I must run off and do some more cooking so I can sleep - in the mean time I will include my fun item of the day, personal warning signs! In my case I have several internet handles that yielded interesting results so I will post them all here:
