Home renovation in process.
Before it was (dumped inbuilt 70s furniture too):
Historic mould...as you can see, several layers of wallpaper...
After stripping several layers of ancient wallpapers underneath one another, 2 bedrooms have been stripped bare and plastered - this weekend we can start painting. I'm not worried about J screwing up as he tends to have a German approach to things. After quotes we got, feeling good about having saved a fortune, as well enjoying to learn.
Bedroom 3 will be a storage room for now before it is done up. Not sure what to do with hallway and lounge, but it doesn't look like their wallpaper is hiding a large multitude of sins so - lining paper on top and paint over? Or strip bare and start afresh on tiny amount of time and limited budget? Big fan of not stitching old wineskin with new wineskin, so to speak...
Once painting is finished, professionals will come round to fit both bedrooms with realistic-looking quickstep laminate (after living in a house with real wooden flooring, no thanks - they stain, damage and scratch so easily).
The professionals will start working on bathroom on Monday. Should take a 2.5 weeks at most.
Yes kids have had massive amount of screen time lately...let them, I say.
