I had a nice, relaxing weekend. Friday night I knitted while D and his friend watched the hockey game, and then we played some poker afterwards. I used to be good at poker but now I always lose. Saturday D and I walked to the mall and got lunch. I went to Walmart to buy birthday presents for my father-in-law, baby Kate and a fellow LJ-er who shall remain nameless. (Even though she knows I'm talking about her, I mean whose birthday is coming up?) Three birthdays in one week! Sunday we went to D's parents for his dad's birthday. They had bread and spinach dip, so the visit was a success in my eyes. Yum. I spent the rest of Sunday knitting and napping and watching TV. Desperate Housewives was a good one. That is all. See? Relaxing.
I told D's family about going to nursing school. They didn't really have any reaction. Nobody seemed surprised - even though I never really mentioned how much I dislike my job in front of them. I was expecting to have to explain myself and how this decision came out of nowhere, but nobody really asked. For that, I was very grateful. How can I explain why? I feel like it's my calling. How lame does that sound? I mean, I can feel how much I want to be a nurse, but I can't really put it into words. Which is NOT going to help me when I have to write my application essay. Eep.
Tonight I'm going with T to the mall and then we're going to watch The Lake House. I've already seen it, but it was a good movie so I said I'll see it again. Why not?
I have decided to leave the Halloween decorations in the storage drawer this year. We don't have kids and we don't get trick-or-treaters, so what's the point?
