Why do they even call it "wisdom teeth"?

Hey to anyone out there who reads my entries,

I'm going in to get my wisdom teeth pulled; it's my first surgery so I'm a bit on edge. Pray that it goes perfectly!

I'll post back when I'm feeling better with the gory details (please God no!).
