Thoughts of Downton Abbey S2 finale...

Episode 2x08 was better than I thought, despite of some pointless plots. It's official that Downton Abbey is a soap opera. That's for sure. Maybe it was since the beginning, but I think it's now when It's more obvious. And if we accept that, then we can enjoy it.

Other thing that I'm glad if to see Iain Glen more than I thought at first. We thought he was going to be in only 3 episodes, but he has been in 5... I know it's hard character for this kind of show. He is in the middle of most caring (maybe "important" is a better word) pairing of the show and he is here to be hated. But still Sir Richard es more honest than Mary and I thing it's a good point.

Well... and now speaking in general...

- Writers did the most easy thing: killing Lavinia. One of the two people who were in the middle of Mary-Matthew was taking off the show. (Sir Richard, watch your back now!). And it's sad, because it's the one who deserved to be happy with Mattthew, not Mary.
- Anna and Bates get married. I loved this pairing in Season 1 but will all the drama I couldn´t care less at the end. They has bored me in this season, and just because when things are settled they lose the magic or the point. Still love the characters but during the season I was losing interest in them.
- Lord Grantham and the maid? Omgs...this was so wrong in my opinion. Or maybe it's the way it was happening, I'm not sure. But since I love Lord and Lady Grantham, I didn´t like this affair and didn´t see the point of it.
- Edith needs more atention, please.
- Brason and Sybil. She is really adorable but this pairing has been really repetitive this season. Writers' fault of course. The timeline didn´t help in this case (the same to Mary and Sir Richard engagement)
- Thomas and O'Brien need to be more evil again. That's was the reason why I loved them in Season 1. :P
- Daisy is one of the characters that I liked more in Season 2. She is growing up.
- Finally... with her strengths and weaknesses, Mary has been the best character of the season.

The most important thing to Xmas Special and Season 3 is that writing gets better and timeline doesn´s spoil the plots and characters, in my opinion.

iain glen, downton abbey
