i miss italy.
so for all you people in art history, in the janson book there is an aerial view of the coloseum. the picture shows a lot of the surrounding area.
its all so vivid in my head!!! off to the right is the arch of constantine where we got lost looking for our first tour guide. on the top near the ruin of the forums is where the arch of titus is. my stepdad got tired from climbing up the not at all steep hill and we laughed. off to the top is where we got ice cream and off the page is where we went shopping down this humongous alley full of shops. near the shopping is the trevi fountain and the pantheon. then off the page would be towards st. peters basilica. over on the right off the road coming from the coloseum, our hotel was right behind that big dome building. on this one wall on a building off the main road to the coloseum is a map of rome and how it grew. over near the coloseum is where i got my postcards for 20 for 1 euro. good deal.
its insane. i can SEE it.
i shall go back. atleast that what the custom of the trevi fountain says (it says that if you throw a coin into the trevi fountain, then you are guaranteed to come back to rome. my mom did it YEARS ago before i was born, and i guess it worked, she came back with us!)
