Lately, Chicago is the new LA. Everyone wants to be in Illinois. I don't blame you. Some of the greatest minds of all time have called Illinois home, including: President Barack Obama, President Lincoln, President Reagan, Jane Addams (my hero), Oprah Winfrey, Carl Sandburg, Ray Bradbury, Miles Davis, Eddie Vedder (my grandma was friends with his grandma Severson), and Billy Corgan.
I have this strange feeling that Chicago is going to be the hot spot for college grads. People will flock here like crazy just to get a piece of the magic. I'm warning you, it isn't beef sandwiches or Portillo's hot dogs, not even Gino's pizza that gives Illinoisans the courage to embark on a journey of greatness, but rather it's the snow, the agonizing winters, and tough guys like these. I find them in my yard every winter. I promise to stop serving Glogg this year.

WARNING: Do not move here before reading the following:
-In just a few months the Chicago air will be so cold that your mouth will freeze when you try to breathe.
-The snots inside your nose will become bite-sized popsicles.
- You'll consider gluing fur to yourself for the winter.
- You'll celebrate when the weather person announces temperatures will break zero.
-Your butt will progressively expand from the first of December until Spring Break, and when you try to put a swimsuit on in the department store mid-May, you will wonder why you have taken on the shape of a baby beluga.
So, unpack. Stay put. Cheer along with us, and visit whenever possible. Just don't move here without living in a restaurant freezer for three months first. Think of it as the step before marriage. Try it, and if you survive frostbite, I'd sure be glad to call you my neighbor. If it doesn't work out then there's still LA. They don't have carbs in LA. You'll keep your lovely figure in LA.
Here's to the Cubs going all the way, as only Eddie Vedder can sing it...
