an interesting viewpoint.
"...I don't really know why the leaders and men of this nation are so shocked. As a woman, I was raised with the idea that if I was ever out alone, especially after dark, I was responsible for encouraging some otherwise perfectly normal man who I had never met to commit mayhem on my body. Now, if that is not terrorism, I don't know what is. Seriously. Women grow up knowing that there are crazies everywhere, and getting mugged, raped, or murdered is part of the game plan for growing up. And it might be perpetrated by the upright owner of the local bank, who goes to church. A good defense for the man would be "she enticed me." End of story.
So I think that women are much less panicked by the new terrorist threat. We've lived with it our entire lives. That may seem funny to you, but I assure you, a woman has a different life than a man. I cannot enter into an elevator when there is only one occupant, a male occupant, without noticing the instant tension that occurs in that tiny enclosed space. Of course, as I get older and grayer, the tension decreases. But for young women, the threat is so very real. And it is constant. Terrorism."

wow. that would give bush a few things to consider in his war on terrorism.
