How many events are going on simultaneously at the Olympics? more than you could count, that's how many.
And here they are showing non-live footage of semi-finals and preliminary rounds.
Why? because otherwise there's a chance that we might see America not win the gold, or worse, see events America isn't even competing in. Or worse, see anything at all that is not swimming, gymnastics, or volleyball.
Please, NBC, give us a break. There is no excuse not to be showing us live *something* at all times, once primetime starts.
And another thing: you never even give us the real "live"! You give us east-coast time's live three hours later.

that being said, watching Michael Phelps and Nastia Liukin has been exiting.
