A/N: I'm almost tempted to leave this one out; it's not very good. However am posting it here for completeness. Feel free to skip.
It was with a certain amount of horror that he discovered Watson had published the case of Hall Pycroft. Surely there could be nothing but condemnation in Watson’s retelling. He would certainly be painted as a fool for rushing off to Birmingham and the death of the watchman placed on his shoulders. He could not bear to read Watson’s disappointment.
