This has been a dramatic month, and one that will live with me for a long time.
I started a new job as a Courier for Iron Mountain Off Site Data Protection. This has been stressful, and tiring, but I generally like it. The pay and benefits are nice, as are my coworkers, and at least there's a sense that I'm doing something important. Still, it's far from my dream job.
I've also been continuing to work at National Car Rental through this month. Thursday is my last day. Thus, I've been sleep deprived most of the month. But, the money has been good, which is one major stress factor now relieved.
Meanwhile, one of my friends died this month. The details of which are, obviously, not suitable for a public forum, but it's enough to say that I've been grieving. Slowly, when I have time between jobs.
My roommates haven't been as much help to me as I would have expected, but it's mostly not their fault. Some are gone, others have their own problems. Still, it's sad to feel lonely in a house full of friends.
I went to the Renaissance Faire in Gig Harbor, as I do every year. It was a good performance this year, and I look forward to future events.
PAX was even better, though. A lot of fun that I fully recommend to any gamer of any type or dedication. I also recommend playing Psychonauts. I played it this month, and loved it thoroughly.
Altogether, August has been a series of ups and downs, and I'll be glad to see it go. Here's hoping for a good September.
I love you all.
