Title: Stop Staring At Me!
Fandom: Leverage
Characters: the team, mostly Parker. Also some unnamed OCs.
Rating: G
Warnings: None. Unless you think I should warn for crazy fan behaviour.
Summary: Parker finds out that she bears a striking resemblance to a quite famous young singer, and has to deal with said singer's crazy teenage fans.
Disclaimer: Leverage belongs to its creators. Taylor Swift belongs to herself. The crazy fans are mine, though.
A/N: Just in case you want to know... I saw a picture of Taylor Swift and thought "Hey, she looks kind of like Beth Riesgraf". Hence this fic.
“Oh… my… god!” A teenage girl’s voice squealed as Parker and the rest of the team walked past. Sophie turned and saw not one girl, but a whole group. They looked like the kind of girls who formed the “popular clique” at most high schools… and they were all staring at Parker, wide-eyed with awe. Raising an eyebrow, she called to the others.
“Uh, guys…”, she said, not taking her eyes off the girls.
Eliot, the first to get there, looked from the teenagers, to Parker, and back again, before looking to Sophie. “Huh?”
She shrugged. “I honestly have no idea.”
Parker was the next to reach them. The girls had actually grown more excited as she stormed over to Sophie and Eliot. “What is it? Why are you just standing here in the middle of the street?”
Sophie pointed out the teenagers nearby. “Parker… those girls over there are staring at you.”
Parker frowned, and turned to face them. “Why are you staring at me?”
Unfortunately, this only had the effect of making the girls scream with excitement, which served only further irritate Parker, who moved closer. “Is there something wrong with all of you? Leave me alone.” With that, she turned on her heel and was about to walk off when one of the girls spoke up.
“But… Taylor, we’re your fans…”
(Watching from nearby, Eliot murmured “Taylor?”, but Sophie just shook her head. “I don’t know… but this is obviously a case of mistaken identity.”)
Parker looked confused. “You’re… fans? What do you want, then?”
The same girl spoke up again. “Well… could you sign this for me?” She held up a CD case.
Feeling somewhat baffled, Parker shrugged. “I… guess. But just one. And you’d better have a pen.” The girl nodded, handing over the plastic case and a black marker pen. Parker took them and quickly scribbed ‘Taylor’ across it, before handing the items back. “There. Now all of you, leave me alone.”
Then she really did walk away. Eliot and Sophie saw enough to see the looks of disappointment on the girls’ faces, but then they realised that Parker was glaring at them, so they hurried after her.
Down the street, they found Nate and Hardison waiting for them.
“What took you so long?” Nate asked.
Sophie started to answer, but Parker said, “There were these girls. They called me Taylor and said they were my fans.”
“Seriously?” Hardison looked incredulous.
“Uh, yeah. Why?”
He smiled, and took a PDA from his pocket. He tapped a few keys before passing it over to Parker. “Taylor Swift. She’s a singer, she’s kinda popular… mostly with teenage girls. I never thought about it before, but you do look pretty similar to her.”
Parker studied the photograph on the PDA screen. “I do, a little bit. Those girls seemed so certain though. It was weird.”
“Uh… yeah… well, that’s crazy fans for you.”
