Okay... been thinking about Heroes.
The writers seem to be being quite... blatant about stealing borrowing plots, etc from other fandoms.
Exhibit A: The plot to blow up New York from Season One - the motivation behind said plan looks suspiciously similar to Ozymandias' plan in Watchmen.
Exhibit B: Sylar... well, his pseudonym is a brand of watch. Which may be recognisable as coming from a) the real-life Zodiac serial killer and b) the bad guy in Dirty Harry, who's based on Zodiac anyway.
