...no, not the town, the TV series. Which is set in the town.
Well, I'd heard about this series a while ago, and I've finally managed to track down a DVD. Which is in the process of being watched.
And...
well, it's fantastic. Partly, I'm enjoying it because of my longstanding respect for David Morrissey as an actor, and partly for the impromptu musical numbers. (And I'm really not kidding about that...)
The best part though (so far) is David Tennant's character, DI Peter Carlisle. I know Blackpool pre-dates DT's turn as The Doctor, but Peter Carlisle is like some kind of proto-Tenth-Doctor, without the alienness.
Basically, he's awesome. And... well, David Morrissey and David Tennant doing a song/dance routine to "These Boots Were Made For Walking" is something that has to be seen to be believed.
EDIT: Oh, and the guy who played Adam in Torchwood S2 is in it, too.
In short: Blackpool - if you haven't seen it, see it. If you have seen it... see it again?
