Lost 6x06 "Sundown"
OK. The good thing about this ep?
It's a Sayid episode. And, well, he *is* one of my favourites. So yeah.
Unfortunately... er, I have just one question after watching this episode. That question is:
WHAT THE FRAK, PEOPLE?
So... just like the other eps recently, we have Reality-A story and Reality-B story.
In Reality-B, Sayid's life is... similar to pre-crash Reality-A, only not. The biggest thing is that while yes, he does go to Nadia's house after the plane lands...
...she's married to his brother. And they have adorable children. And it's painfully obvious that Sayid is still in love with her (and never stopped) - but he believes that he doesn't deserve her. Thus her marrying his brother.
(yes, he had a brother in Reality-A. I checked on Lostpedia.)
Sayid's brother, now, is having trouble, because he borrowed money from a disreputable type to fund a new business, the Disreputable Type was asking for more and more money, and eventually he ends up in hospital, after asking Sayid to.. persuade the D.T. to go away. Sayid refused.
After his brother got attacked, though, he had an interesting encounter with some of the D.T.'s goons. One of whom bore a suspicious resemblance to Omar, who showed up on a certain FREIGHTER a while back. Anyhow, the goons take him to an apparently deserted restaurant kitchen, in which we meet the Disreputable Type himself.
And (leading me to think that in some ways, Reality-B is some kind of Bizarro-World version of R-A), the D.T. is.... MARTIN FREAKING KEAMY. My expression looked a lot like :O when I saw him.
Anyways. Not!Keamy and the Suspiciously Familiar Goons end up dead. Sayid's about to leave when he hears a noise. Naturally he goes to investigate, and he finds... Reality-B Jin, tied up and with tape over his mouth, in a storeroom.
I just have no idea, guys.
Unfortunately for me and the headache this show is giving me, things in Reality-A aren't much better.
1. for some reason, Smocke sends G.I. Claire to the Temple. I'm not sure why, because she just ends up getting stuck in a pit for a while, sings Catch A Falling Star to herself, and freaks out Kate a bit. The ways of Smocke are truly strange to me.
2. Miles gets to actually do something! I've been feeling a bit sorry for him lately, because it seems like he's been ignored a lot, so this is good. Even if his job is mostly to explain stuff to Kate.
(Also... now that the Dreaded Triangle has been pretty effectively blown out of the water... I'm thinking Miles/Kate, folks. We can so make this work.)
3. ...OK, now I feel bad for Dogen. Especially now that he's dead... though I did have a feeling that he wouldn't survive the episode...
4. And Island Lennon's dead too. This makes me sad also, if only because now I'll never find out what happened to the rest of the Island Beatles. (jk, jk...)
5. Smocke scares and worries me. That, though, is nothing new.
6. ...um, OK, random cracktastic rescue party (Ilana, Sun, Frank and Ben) shows up to partially save the day. That *was* something new and unexpected.
7. Even though there was a distinct Lack of Sawyer this week... I'm worried about him. Really worried about him. Really, really worried.
8. More Richard, pls. Also, some Desmond would be nice, but mostly... more Richard!
9. Throughout this ep, I decided that everything at the Temple of Doom was to be named "the _____ of Doom". It made everything easier to handle. (Pool of Doom, Knife of Doom, etc...)

We hardly knew you guys, but at least you were badass and mysterious while you were here.
