I wanted to let you all know about the new play I'm in -- new to me and new to the world. The world premiere of Joy Cutler's "Pardon My Invasion" begins previews at Plays and Players Theatre (17th and Delancey in Philly) on November 3, opens on the 5th and plays through November 19th.
The story line is wacky and wonderful and has been a delightful challenge to bring to life. Here's the modified publicity statement:
When Private Malcolm Jack goes AWOL while serving in Iraq, he discovers there might be safer places to hide than in the body of a 13-year-old girl. Her novelist mother enlists the biggest bombshell in her pulp fiction arsenal to seduce him out, but it will take more imagination than that to end the occupation in this dark and twisted new farce spearing sex, gender, and invasion from Philadelphia's own Joy Cutler.
Directed by Cara Blouin, who is a marvel of intellect and creativity, and
starring Julian Cloud, Emily Gibson, Theresa Leahy, Joe O'Brien, Angela Smith, and Yours Truly.
