Last night I was fairly productive, in a perfectly mundane fashion. I finally managed to get off packages with dresses in them -- I lied and told the post office attendant that I had made them myself (I felt that gave me more legitimacy somehow. He was very impressed by my prowess with needle and thread.) And then, because Kyle and I couldn't ( Read more... )

Hooray for turning off the TV! That's what we did last night and the evening seemed to open up before us!

Totally! Brian & I gave away our tvs when I was pregnant, and haven't looked back. It was such a positive lifestyle change. We did it for Little Bear, but I had no idea how beneficial it would be to us and our relationship as well!

But how do you get your Star Trek fix? ;)

We don't have television access; we only use ours for watching dvds and vhs tapes... but there are times when I wish I could watch the latest episode of whatever happens to be hot on tv these days.

I do like those evenings when it's completely off and we read or talk instead!

I didn't realize that my Star Trek addiction was so apparent! ;)

I actually have tons of Star Trek on DVD, and I watch them on my computer. Brian & I rent movies sometimes too, and set the laptop on the nightstand to watch them in bed.

But not having access to regular tv programming still makes a big difference, as I'm sure you'd agree. Instead of just having it on sucking up time, we only watch things that we really want to see, and its more of an event.

One of my friends has her tv on all the time, just as background ambiance or something. I find that so distracting!
