One of my brothers, Bang Ei and his family, who currently live in Amsterdam, came to visit today on my birthday.
Joseph and Louise were delighted to see their cousins, the 3rd time for Joseph and the 1st time for Louise.
Joseph thought his cousins were cool, and called them 'anak2 gede' (the big kids). Those big kids were happy to babysit, they even joined his flower picking session.
Their visit made our day. Il y a beaucoup de gens a table, said Joseph cheerfully at dinner. He's right, it's been so many many years since the last time we shared a meal with my siblings. It feels warm in my heart.
Il y a beaucoup de gens a table= there are many people at the table
And oh oh, last but not least, they brought my favorite hagelslag, loved it as a child love it now.
When living in Chicago, I asked a friend to bring some, but somehow the American bread and butter
didn't match these Dutch chocolate sprinkles. Glad the Germans' do.
