Had a complicated weekend.
Friday morning was Amiel Yehuda Betzalel's brit (yes, that is cruel and unusual, but they'll probably call him Ami or Amiel, so it's not soooo bad). The restaurant was nice, food was great, and the baby's siblings did some sweet stuff. Tzvi (11) gave a really nice speech. Elisheva (8) gave a speech from memory on all the possibilities of which day you can/should have the brit on. Avital (7 next week) read something. Dina (6) also read, which is amazing, because I didn't know she could read Hebrew. I knew she could read English, but Hebrew too! wow! Elihu (3) sang (very very softly) to the baby "hamalach hagoel". (anyone wants to know what that is, ask in the comments)...
Then the cousins from the other side (sister-in-law Ilana's brother's daughters #3 and #4, Ayelet and Hodaya) played flute (Ayelet, age 12 or so) and clarinet (Hodaya, age 10 or so). Sadly Hodaya's fingers don't cover the holes on the clarinet very well, so she had a little trouble. What's cool about Ayelet and Hodaya is that they are also in a chess club, and ended up playing against Hadas (11) who is Rachel's oldest daughter (Rachel is my sister). Hadas, of course, beat both of them. All three were surprised to discover that they're sort of related. (they have cousins in common). Pretty cool.
So... a gut voch (good week) to all and to all a good night :)
