Ding, dong, the lich is dead

Which old lich? The wicked lich!

According to good 'ol CBN, senator Strom Thurmond finally died yesterday at the age of 100. Perhaps it was the result of a heart attack, as his death comes on the very same day that Texas repealed its anti-sodomy laws. Interesting tidbits: Thurmond holds the record for the longest serving US senator (over 40 years) and also held the world's record for longest filibuster (over 24 hours of continuous speaking) in a speech before the senate against civil rights. Although, to be fair, he did become less racist later… after minorities gained the power to vote. I suspect that by now he's already transferred his soul into the cloned body of his son, Strom Thurmond Jr. (currently US attorney of South Carolina), just like all mighty undead republicans. I'm not too concerned, as his son is somehow also freakishly old, but then again who knows how long this one will stick around past his expiration date. Someone get me a wooden stake.
