It's that time again. I feel I should do something special, like, uh… ehh… fhtagn. I dunno. Destroy the Earth, and so on. I just went to the DMV and that's kind of evil and spooky, right?
At ours, you are expected to pass the time by admiring the face of Arnold Schwarzenegger staring down at you from a framed photograph on the wall. Just another friendly reminder that yes, you are in the Twilight Zone.
I just wrote an "Ode to Satan" after chancing upon a Baudelaire poem online a few minutes ago:
Thank you for the comforts of French poetry After singing the dirge of a lost enemy Thank you for haunting the nightmares of fools And for giving some thinking men their tools Thank you for showing that no matter how migthy It is, one can always question authority Thanks for giving me knowledge and satisfaction I'm better than you despite my imperfection Thanks for having given me something to abhor So much more harmless than what life had in store
