garden update

Hooray for actually doing stuff in the garden! I fertilized, limed, turned over, and watered the old part of garden. The new part still needs some work. I bought some fake stone bordering to attempt to build up the soil a little. But first I have to figure out how the hell to buy loam. Anyone seen loam for sale? Anyone? Last year's crop of lettuce, broccoli, and spinach went so well that I'm definitely doing that again. I may try some carrots as well. I haven't quite planned out what the summer crops will be, but I'm assuming yellow squash (because good god, squash was the only thing I had last summer), a few types of tomatoes, hot peppers, bell peppers, eggplant, and a standard barrage of herbs. I'm going to try soybeans and okra again. Also, I joined a CSA offered by Elysian Fields Farm! I'm very excited about trying this out and hope to be positively overflowing in vegetables by summer.
