Room 509, Monday Evening

Apr 23, 2012 19:29

Not having a roommate meant Raven had plenty of room. She was taking advantage of that now, laying out a circle of candles and sweet-smelling incense (frangipani was her favorite) on the floor. It was a daily ritual, and she meant to relax herself and still her mind before watching Rumor Gal tonight. Though, on second thought, since she didn't ( Read more... )

Cassidy was heading up to drop off some cupcakes that she had made more Raven. However, the closer she got to Raven's room, the stranger she thought she was feeling. She gasped softly when she realized that it was Raven that the strange feelings were coming from ( ... )

When she saw Raven's struggles starting to get a little less strong, she looked around the room. Raven needed to be woken up and woken up now.

Her eyes fell on a vase or pitcher that seemed to have flowers in it. She pulled the flowers out of it and then climbed upon Raven's bed. Once she was there, she air walked up to where she was looking down at Raven's face.

"Raven, please wake up." She placed a hand on Raven's shoulder and shook. When that didn't work, she floated the container of water over to her.

She took a deep breath, and then tilted the water until it was pouring down into her friends face and chest.

When Cassidy touched Raven's shoulder, the power around her knocked the hand away. But it didn't stop the water from splashing down on to her face.

The candles all went out at once, clattering to the floor. Raven's eyes flew open and she dropped as well, crashing down even as her hands clutched at her throat and she coughed and gasped for breath.

Cassidy was there, rubbing her back and trying to figure out what had just happened.

"Raven..." She called in her tea supplies. She was going to make tea while Raven explained to her what was going on.

"Cassidy!" Raven exclaimed, grabbing her friend's arm. She looked around wildly. She was in her room, safe, and not dressed like a cosplayer from meta for The Fifth Element.

"I do not know what happened...my father...."

Was alive, like she'd feared.

"You were dreaming of your father?" That didn't sound like a good thing after everything she had been told.

"What happened?"

"I was meditating," Raven said, crossing her arms over her chest and shivering. "Somehow he pulled me to him. I was afraid he had not been entirely destroyed and now I know I am right."

Which meant the dream she'd had of her brothers trying to free him might have been a true one.

"You should talk to Professor Skywalker and to Karla. This could be too dangerous just for you to handle on your own."

"I will," Raven said, nodding shakily, still trying to process this all.

There wasn't imminent danger, at least, she could sense that much. But she wasn't as safe as she thought she had been.

"Thank you, Cassidy," she said softly. "I do not know what would have happened if you had not been here."

"I'm just glad that I was on my way to your room, anyway, and felt that something was wrong and you were in distress."

"You were?" Raven was happy to distract herself from thoughts of her father. "Just for a visit, or was there something with which you required my aid?"

"Just for a visit," she assured her, calling in the basket of cupcakes.

Despite everything, Raven smiled. "You are so sweet, Cassidy," she said. "I am so sorry to drag you into this."

"You're not dragging me into anything. I'm your friend and I want to help."
