Raven had been studying in her room when the onions appeared. She eyed them warily at first, remembering when carnivorous vegetables had attacked the island, but these were content to just hurl their taunts, doing their best to cause her emotional distress. But she'd been meditating a great deal since speaking with Professor Sherlock, and her control over her emotions at the moment was strong.
"That is not very nice of you to attempt to insult me," she chided the onions.
"What do you know about nice?" one onion piped up. "You're a demon. You're evil."
"And you appear to be suffering from some sort of inferiority complex that has made you create the defense of belittling others in order to make yourselves feel better," Raven said. "Please, let me help you instead."
An hour later, the onions were weeping themselves about how people were always asking to hold them on their burgers or picking them off their pizzas and how unloved and unwanted that made them feel. Raven assured them that some people absolutely loved onions, and they should embrace that rather than the dislike of a minority. She praised them for being a plant that was entirely edible and pointed out how almost every culture in the world used onions in so many different forms, including medicinal purposes.
Feeling much better after a good cry, the onions thanked her for listening to them and making them feel so much better about themselves. She sent them on their way, telling them she hoped they would retain this new-found self-esteem and help their fellow onions as well.
