strokes and windows
so yesterday when i got home from this charity thing my dad couldn't feel his right hand. we took him down to the VA hospital and stayed around until 1:30 AM but then my mom's leg was swelling (she had hip surgery in june). turns out he had a small stroke, and will be fine.
he deals with things so differently than my mom -- he just chuckles and makes jokes. my mom cries. i'm like neither of them, i don't think. not like i could really tell though, because the worse thing that's happened to me is getting three stitches in my foot when i stepped on a piece on glass.
in addition to all this leg swelling and hand numbing, the driver's side window in my car is broken (won't go up or down) and at first i was all excited because the part was only seventy dollar, but then we got a call from the guy and he said after working for FOUR HOURS (read: two hundred dollars) on the window, he realized it was not that part but another part he needed.
in addition, i'm leaving for chicago on tuesday. presumably.
