its so quiet

A whole week has passed since the convention. My house is empty, its just Xavier and I and he is fast asleep at the moment. Jay has gone back to work, the kids back to school, Casey back to Uralla and Jax and Glen and kids back to Broken Hill. I had quite a little clan all shoved in our little home. It made me realize how much I love having people to stay. I love the buzz of pre-convention mornings, timed showers, a line up of people waiting for the iron, ...of a line up of people waiting for me to iron for them...although Jax had her family sorted, mine on the other hand were totally disorganised...also a row of kids on the couch eating coco pops. and the ritualistic yell I'm closing the door now, if you have forgotten something...too bad'...'hell, I forgot Xman's dummy" "Ok, that we have to go back for"

I also love the quiet solitude of the aftermath. There are no cushions shoved into out of the way spots. I took the ramp back on Thursday, I climb the stairs again (stairs are easier than a ramp believe it or not) and my sofa isnt a bed anymore. I love the uncluttered walk to the kitchen in the morning and the sight of bare boards from the stairs to the front door (no suitcases) but I really do love having everyone around.

For me, the best point of the assembly was Jesus and the woman with the flow of blood, and the speaker asked three questions...one that I'm going to really take to heart is 'Do you allow for mitigating circumstances when disciplining your children?' Having a 17yr old, a 14 yr old and a 4 1/2 month old...this is relevant don't you think?
