My sister's death... drunk driver... when I was a teenager. My parents volunteered for the ambulance service back when weekend work was done by volunteers in the 70s and 80s. SO they both knew the drill. Dad said he knew as soon as he heard those boots instead of her heels on the driveway because it was about 2 am and she was due home from work just after midnight, so he was still awake, listening for her.

Ive edited it since, ha, it takes me months to finish a poem and I always post them too soon. I need to learn to just leave them alone after a while and move on.

You're words always stir up such emotion within me. I love the way you write. I am the same way with my poems. I go back and make changes sometimes years after I've written something. I'm the only one who ever sees them though. I once had a bad experience with a therapist who got a hold of my poetry journal (via my concerned mother) and decided to dissect and analyze my writings so from that time on I never shared any of it with anyone. I felt violated! I'm so happy that you share yours with all of us. It's beautiful! Love you!

aww fanks luv! its hard to put ur words out there. I had my first poetry reading on tues. Seven mins, no props, no nuffin, just 20 ppl and the lecturer's eyes boring into you soul...sigh...I stuffed up the first one, then relaxed a bit. Though I doubt I would have been able to read this out. She was very appreciative of everyone laying their hearts on the line, I thought it was lovely that she thanked everyone for reading very personal poetry as well as other stuff.

I seem to be craving feedback at the mo, not 'oh how wonderful' stuff which is lovely but...I feel like Im at the stage where I need the critism etc. I suppose my first grade from the reading will give me a better idea of where Im sitting with style, talent, technical stuff...
