So far, am really liking Dreamwidth. The way things are set-up make sense, there's transparency and quick responses to user questions and issues, and it's so obvious that the owners care.

And boy, that's been missed for quite a while at LJ. Not that many of the volunteers or employees don't/didn't, but it sure makes a big difference when the people at the top do and just aren't in it for a quick buck.

And even the logo looks cool! hee

I am really, really looking forward to the base styles being easier to customize too.

Saw this mentioned on my flist over there and then read the whole post myself.
As cool as everything is, it is by far the best thing of all about Dreamwidth:
* Time from site launch to first Terms of Service complaint that wasn't just an inquiry about a certain provision of the ToS, but someone who wanted to report content in someone else's account/community: 18 hours.

(The answer was "so don't look at it, then!")

A logical response from the site! Woah. How sweet is that?

I also like how you can do the whole {user=blah blah} for a dreamwidth user or a {user=blah blah site=livejournal dot com} thing to link to an lj user. Neat little trick, that.
