You're a popular one for a new arrival. Weird.

Actually... that's all I wanted to say. Seems everyone else answered your questions already.

I was told that new arrivals are usually greeted kindly. Is that not correct?

There's 'kindly' and then there's 'everyone greeting at once'.

... Never mind. I'm still new myself. So maybe this is normal. Whatever.

And as a new arrival yourself, how have you been adjusting?

Good enough.

Since you asked: I'm Ted. Also from New York, but 20 years ahead of you.

Nice to meet you.

What's New York like in 2005?

Likewise.

Probably not too much different from yours. Tall buildings, businessmen, and constant traffic.

No flying cars, but bigger television screens, I imagine.

Do you ever miss the city? Most people have a love/hate relationship with New York that's hard to break free from once you've lived there enough years.

Yeah. Nicely put. Thinner tv screens, too.

No. My experiences there were not too pleasant.

I'm sorry to hear that.

New York isn't always kind to everyone, especially below midtown.

Yeah, well. We can't all be happy.

I know very few people who are happy, even in the nicer cities of the world.
