Racing after Ironman

So after my first Ironman was completed at the end of August, I had no desire to do any more races this year (obviously). However, one of my favorite races ever is the half Ironman nearby that you have to sign up for the fall before. I hummed and hawed about it, but decided to try to sign up (after sign-up had been open for about a month). Sure enough, it was sold out. So I thought that I'd put myself on the wait-list with no real hope that I'd get in. It was okay because at this point I'm not really stoked about training or anything. It probably doesn't help that I have stress fractures in both of my feet from IM.

However, I got in and I signed up. It's next July after the Canada Day long weekend and I'm pretty excited to get in. I am taking the entire fall off and will start training in January for the upcoming season. After Ironman, it's all easy, right? Here is my tentative 2008 race schedule:

End of May: half-marathon
Middle of June: Olympic tri
July 6th - Stony Plain Half Ironman
Mid-August - Waskesiu tri

Right now I'm working on designing my website (www.vegantriathlete.com), but for now all of my writing is on my blog at vegantriathlete.blogspot.com. It's pretty quiet right now with taking off the fall, but I post things occasionally.

So my big plans for next season is to do more mountain bike racing and volunteering. What are your racing plans for the 2008 season?
