[ howl at the moon 2?]

Eames wasn't pacing nervously as he sat on the bench outside Ariadne's school; it didn't appear that he wanted to, either, to anyone who didn't know him. But the drum of his fingers on his knee, the reflexive glance of his eyes to the school front; impatient seeming to some was actually Eames working out nervous energy.

He hadn't shared his idea ( Read more... )

Ariadne pulled a hand through her hair and half listened to the conversation around her as she tried to decide how appropriate it would be for her to show up at Eames's apartment looking for him at this time of the day. It was good she didn't care too much about appropriateness. She smiled at the thought and waved abruptly to her friends saying goodbye as she cut away from them and their lunch plans. She headed out the gate wondering if she should try the warehouse before Eames's apartment when she spotted him across way on the bench. She smiled and waved jogging across the street to meet him.

"Eames! You didn't say you were coming to pick me up." She leans over the bench to drop a kiss on his cheek.

"That would defeat the purpose of it being a surprise, pet," he told her, turning his head at the last moment to kiss her briefly on the lips with a little grin. He patted the bench next to him.

"I thought I might take you home for lunch, since I have something I want to talk to you about. Nothing terrible," he adds as an afterthought.

She grins back and sits down closely next to him, not noticing that some of her friends were stopped on the other side of the street watching. "Sounds great. I was headed your way anyway."

Eames noted their presence very absently, uncaring. He slips a hand around hers; Eames was unsurprisingly tactile with Ariadne.

"Oh you were, were you? May I ask why?" He asks in a teasing tone, grin growing wider.

She threads her smaller fingers through his and squeezes once before looking him in the eyes a bit defiantly. "Because I wanted to."

"And that's all the reason you should ever need," he tells her with a fond tone, then smirking over at her and moving to stand, tugging her with him. "Come on then, I think some kind of pasta is in your future."

She hums. "Mmm, it is a pasta sort of day." She keeps her hand in his as they start along. "But what do you want to talk to me about?"

"Cold or hot, though," Eames wonders aloud, fingers curling around her hand possessively. At her query he looks down and then forward again. "Something I wanted to show you, later," he says.

She hums thinking. "Hot, with some sauce and warm buttery bread. Somewhere Italian~ How does that sound?" She leans easily into his arm as they hold hands and stroll.

"A mysterious something...Is this a work related something or...?" Her nature is insatiably curious.

"Italian sounds lovely. There's a place near my flat that we can go to," he offers, "They make a delicious sauce and the best bread you've had." It's oddly refreshing, blending in as Ariadne's beau, strolling and holding her hand as they mill about.

He tenses, slightly, shaking his head. "Something of another nature entirely. Actually, nature is the crux of it," he offers, knowing she'll get what he means.

"Sounds like a plan." She tightens her hand in his when he tenses, but can't help the way she looks sharply up towards his face.

"Is that so?" She watches him for a moment and smiles tip-toeing up to kiss his cheek. "Alright, after lunch then."

"Very much so," he says dryly, and leans down just slightly to oblige her kissing his cheek. He drops the subject for now, instead choosing to pursue other avenues of discussion as he and she walk.

Ariadne lets the topic go easily even though it lingers in the back of her mind. They have a lovely lunch and she feels like a bit of a pig over the bread that really was as good as Eames said. When they're done and leaving though she looks at him from the corner of her eyes half expectantly while she takes his hand again.

Eames catches her looking and shakes his head, a small smile around the corners of his mouth.

"In a little while, pet," he said, tugging her in the direction of a small park that was filled with trees near his house. He deflected any questions she had until they got there, and he led her to the middle of it. Only then did he start to speak.

"I wanted to know if you'd be okay with me showing you the wolf," He told her, serious.

She walks with him completely trusting into the park. She inhales at his request and watches his face carefully.

"That would make me very happy, if you want to, and you're not doing it because you feel like you should."

Eames shakes his head. "Not because I feel like I should. Because I want to," he says with a small smile, stepping closer to run a hand over her hair. "You've been nothing but kind to me, and if you're willing to accept me, all of me.. it's only fair I can share this with you."
