Because being actually productive is for noobs...
I was thinking about starting posting some of the songs I'm using as chapter titles for Revelation, as opposed to last time when I was using all Beatles songs, this one is all American/Appalachian folk songs (and eventually Irish folk songs as well), so I thought that might be interesting on a purely expose-people-to-things-they-might-not-necessarily-have-been-exposed-to level, and I find folk music/old time far more interesting on an anthropological level anyway. But, we've just started that one and I have a lot yet to go, plus I don't have mp3s to some of them, so I decided, hey, let's just do Naturalized instead!
Sendspace link to zip file. I may post all of the Beatles songs I used as chapter titles later, as that's a whole separate huge zip file in and of itself, but for now I'll just use all the songs I referenced in the story itself, which is for the most part "Silly songs with Bumblebee!"
"I Wanna Know What Love Is", Foreigner- Song what Bumblebee uses to wake Sam up at the beginning. Used because it is, bar none, the cheesiest song I know.
"Late in The Evening", Paul Simon- And then Bee tells Sam what time it is.
"Johnny B. Goode", Chuck Barry- Song from which Bee derives his human pseudonym.
"I Need You," The Beatles- Yes, a chapter title, but I stuck it in here because Bee actually uses this one.
"She's a Lady", Tom Jones- In which Bumblebee defends Mikaela's honor from Miles.
"Sexy Back (AKA the best song ever written)", Justin Timberlake- Bumblebee is randomly playing this as showcasing my love of dashing tense scenes upon the rocks when he first meets Ada.
"Rehab", Amy Winehouse- Bumblebee plays this in response to Ada's drinking problem.
"Stronger", Kanye West- Bumblebee plays this during the first chase scene from Soundwave to get the humans to shut up. Should be noted that this is a cover/remix of Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." Now, I love Kanye. Yes, he is arrogant as a bag of dicks, but I love him anyway, and I do enjoy the song. That said, I think I like the Daft Punk version better, so I included both.
"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", Cyndi Lauper- Bee plays this out in the desert.
"American Pie", Don McLean- Bee plays this one in the desert, Russell gets a little fixated on it.
"Good Morning, Starshine", Oliver- Bee plays this one after escaping Starscream the first time.
"Highway to Hell", AC/DC- Bee plays this after escaping Simmons (a lot of escaping went on in this fic, no?)
"Macho Man", The Village People- Bee plays this in order to "manipulate" the humans into not freaking out as a demonstration to Perceptor.
"We Are the Champions", Queen- Bee plays this one after escaping Starscream the second time.
"Stand By Your Man", Tammy Wynette- Bee plays this one during Mikaela's relationship woes.
"Every Rose Has It's Thorn", Poison- And then he plays this one. This one may edge out "I Wanna Know What Love is" for cheesiest song ever. The best part is the heart-wrenching sigh that he gives at the beginning.
"Revolutionary Etude", Chopin- First song Percy plays at Diadema's.
"Nocturne No. 10 in B Minor", Chopin- Second song Percy plays at Diadema's.
I also put "Earth Intruders" by Bjork in there, too, which Miles sings in Revelation, cause I really just love the shit out of that one. And simply because it's Miles very favorite song in the world, I put "Big Balls" by AC/DC in there as well.
It really occurs to me that I should have had David Bowie's "I'm Afraid of Americans" in Naturalized somewhere. Damn! Ah well, enjoy!
