Mistake
Ohno nuzzled into a neck as narrow and soft as his own. There were limbs tangled, strands of hair astray and sticking to his skin, as well as fingers intertwined and affectionately rubbing together. Nino grumbled about it being 'too hot for them to be so close', but Ohno ignored it. He knew Nino loved the attention and he was glad to provide it.
"Ohno, I'm sweating, it's sticky; let go a bit." Nino mumbled from against Ohno's neck.
"I'm not holding you anymore. You can get a bit of air." Ohno giggled, loosening his hold.
"Gee, thanks Leader." Nino rolled his eyes, poking Ohno's stomach softly. "Been working out with Sho again?"
"Not much, just once a week, when we're both free." Ohno's lips turned upward, placing a kiss to Nino's forehead.
"Should I be jealous?" Nino smirked a bit, pretending to pull away from the kiss.
"Not unless you wanted to go work out instead of finishing Zelda?" Ohno grabbed a fistful of Nino's undershirt.
"Mmmm. Not really, that's true." Nino chuckled, wrapping his legs around Ohno.
~~
"Come back to bed." Sho rubbed his arms against the silky sheets, wondering why he hadn't thought of buying this kind of fabric years ago.
Jun paced around the room, looking at one wall then the facing one, trying to remember where it was he was supposed to meet Ohno. He had so many plans this week, he couldn't, for the life of him, recall the cafe he'd chosen to meet Ohno in. He grumbled, pulling the hair at the top of his head frantically. It was really a burden having so many things to do.
"I'm sure he forgot too, come here with me." Sho tapped the bed lightly. "I'll make you feel better." Sho propped himself up on one elbow.
"I can't..I can't just let Leader be there alone for hours." Jun retorted, rolling his eyes.
"Oh, but it's okay to make plans on a saturday morning and leave me home all day?" Sho hissed, letting himself fall onto his back and crossing his arms.
"I thought I had told you we were going for coffee. I'm sorry Sho, really." Jun climbed on the bed, bringing Sho's fingers to his mouth and kissing them gently. "Forgive me?"
"I do," Sho sighed. "Just, don't forget to tell me anything else. I'll try to find something to do today. Maybe I'll meet up with Nino or Aiba." He rolled onto his side, returning to sleep a bit more.
~~~
"Sho? Long time you haven't called me. Usually we just text." Nino smiled against the receiver, it was a pleasant surprise indeed.
"Oh, yeah. I was just making sure you were awake. I wanna hang out at your place. Can I?" Sho waited anxiously for the response. There was no way he would stay at his place all day, alone especially. Rainy days were meant to be shared with company.
"Really? There's only video games and art stuff here though. But, sure,you can come over. Just don't expect me to cook. If you're hungry, pick something up before you get here. I'm kinda hungry too." Nino grinned a bit; he knew Sho had caught on by the way he was clearing his throat.
"Yeah, I got it Kazu. I'll buy us some ramen." Sho said his goodbye and hung up.
~~~~
Nino pulled a t-shirt on as the older gentleman knocked on his door. "Just open it, you've been here enough." Nino fixed the creases of his shirt and tugged down his jeans an inch, they had recently been washed by Ohno (which, of course, meant they were a bit more snug than Nino liked them to be).
"What's with your pants? Looks like something Jun would wear." A snicker and a few fake coughs were heard from Sho. He wasn't very good at teasing Nino; he knew he'd get it back with interest.
"Ohno tried to wash them." Nino sighed and pulled the plastic bag from Sho's hand. "Ramen you said?" Nino opened it slowly, his stomach growled almost instantly.
"Enjoy it, I ate a late lunch actually." Sho patted Nino's shoulder lightly, giving a sweet smile.
From there on, nothing would or could ever be the same.
Sho's hand trailed up Nino's thigh, which the younger man thought nothing of at first, but it lingered. It lingered for more than a few seconds, and the same fingers crept higher. Nino wasn't a talented actor for nothing. He continued eating his ramen; the bowl under his mouth, slurping quite loudly. But there was no actor who could keep a straight face once their zipper was slipped open and digits crawled in slowly, sensually.
The carpet was stained with ramen and the bowl was overturned. Sho was still sprawled on top of Nino, snoring his satisfaction and gratitude. Nino stared at the ceiling, tracing his index over Sho's back gently in circles and figure eights. He couldn't help but wonder if this was a plan the older man had concocted for a day when Jun and Ohno would be together, and away from their respectful lovers. Nino was usually the sneaky, manipulative one. How could Sho send his life into such a shamble within a few minutes.
Was this only a one time thing? Ohno and Jun, what happened to them?
"Don't tell them." Sho whispered under his breath, kissing a trail over Nino's chest.
"I can't keep this a secret. Ohno is my lover and our Leader. Jun is one of the strongest people in Arashi; he keeps us in line. Don't you care about your boyfriend at all?" This was one of the few times Nino had raised his voice. Sho was his senior, almost like an older brother.
"Calm down, I'll tell him. Just not now, not during our concert tour." Sho cupped Nino's face softly, smiling to reassure the younger man.
~~~~~
"Nino's not answering his phone. I think something's wrong." Ohno bit his lip to keep it from trembling.
"Really? We should go over there, then. I don't need to worry about him either. Sho said he might go visit." Jun dropped a few bills on the table and pulled Ohno's hand.
~~~~~~
Sho offered to dress Nino, silently. His hands running over the delicate shoulders and chest, pulling the shirt on gently. Nino smiled, rubbing his cheeks, trying to hide the blush making its way over his face. Sho leaned in to kiss the younger man, sliding his hands down Nino's jeans once more.
"Ah, Sho. We can't do this." He panted. "We, we just did this."
Nino moaned, being pulled closer by a stronger person. It was different to have someone wrap around you, have them be bigger and more muscular. It felt nice.
Nino's eyes snapped open, hearing Ohno's keys slip into the lock.
"Sho!" Jun said, covering his mouth with shock.
~~~~~~~
Ohno quickly forgave Nino, but it wasn't quite the same between them. And Nino wouldn't beg Ohno to take him back, he felt too guilty for such a thing anyways. Besides, Ohno was spending most of his days consoling the broken soul who was named Jun. Nino couldn't be around while that happened. Jun was such a good man; he didn't deserve that.
Nino ignored Sho's phonecalls.
Jun answered them sometimes. But he hung up soon after; trying to avoid the tears pulling at the corners of his eyes. Sho was a wonderful friend, but no longer trustworthy with matters of the heart. Jun would slap Nino from time to time, telling him to at least discuss things with Sho. Arashi would fall apart otherwise.
Aiba smiled easily, even while knowing his bandmates were all suffering; he honed his acting skills for the sake of the fans. (He also wondered why he hadn't discovered these couples sooner.)
Sho called Nino again. Nino snapped his phone shut and threw it across his place. It was too hard to live alone, he thought. A few weeks was fine, but months became morally painful. Ohno had moved in with Jun to better watch over him, he seemed determined on sinking into a rut of depression.
Knock, knock. The door was banged softly.
"Go away." Nino yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Let me in, please. Kazu, I'm sorry I messed up everything." Sho sighed, scratching his nails against the wooden frame.
"Sho, fuck off!" Nino stomped away from the door, slamming the bathroom door behind him.
Nino punched the door. It felt good.
He punched it again, then the mirror, the wall, anywhere he could reach. Nino hated himself for having done these things to Ohno and Jun. Ohno was his treasure, his lover. Jun was the perfect match for Sho, and he'd always had a crush on the younger man. It was the lowest thing he could have ever gone through with.
Why would he do that to them, destroy so many relationships, just to sleep with Sho?
He screamed profanities, wincing in pain as he watched the line of blood slide down his knuckles. All he could do was stare at it, remembering the look on Ohno's face when he walked in on them; sadness and fear, tears streamed down his cheeks like silent rivers. His eyes filled with water and he attempted to wipe them away with his shirt collar.
Sho had asked Ohno for the key earlier that day, so he snuck in while Nino hid in the bathroom. He walked into the apartment, dumbfounded. Where were they video games? The decks of cards? The piles of dirty clothing? Nino was staying in an almost entirely empty apartment.
"Nino? Kazu-kun, where are you? Ohno gave me the key." Sho walked around the piles of balled up paper.
"I said go away!" Nino yelled, while tears slipped past his cheeks and dripped over his clothing.
"I will not! Just listen to me. Accept my confession. I know you feel it too." Sho's heart raced as he pounded on the door to be allowed in.
"You ruined everything. Do you understand that? Everything!" Nino screeched, punching the bathroom window.
"Nino, if you want to go back to Ohno, why don't you? I'm sure he forgives you by now." Sho leaned against the frame, legs tucked under him, waiting for a response.
"Because. Because I feel like he doesn't deserve me. I'm worthless. Why did you seduce me?" Nino picked up a piece of glass slowly, checking the edge of it, making sure it was sharp enough. "I've had enough." Nino wiped his tears away.
Sho's posture drooped, his head banged against the door. Why did he seduce Nino? He loved Jun and he knew Nino loved Ohno. There was nothing to it except selfish lust and desire. And something in the way Nino crossed his legs, watched people from the corner of his eye, grinned when he thought no one noticed, it made Sho want to have it.
Though, it wasn't lust anymore. Six months later, Sho still wanted to be with Nino.
Sho returned to reality when Nino was no longer crying, but breathing heavily.
"Nino? Nino! What's going on?" Sho banged his fists against the door. "Let me in. What are you doing!?" Sho became frantic and slammed his shoulders against the wood. He rammed the door once more and finally made it inside.
There Nino laid, breathing now shallow, hands and wrists covered in blood. Sho stammered over to him, slipping in the small puddle of blood on the cold tiles and falling down, facing Nino. He shook the smaller man, but no response. Sho dialed an ambulance and carried Nino into the living room, pacing back and fourth.
"Nino, you can't do this. What kind of idol are you? Who kills themself when nothing's truly wrong?! I don't get it." Sho leaned close to Nino and cupped his face.
~~~~~~~~
"Sho, I'm ready for the party. Bring me my coat please." Sho disappeared into the walk-in closet.
"Here you go, Jun-kun." Jun smiled, placing a kiss to the older man's cheek.
"I hope we get there before he does, haha. Wouldn't that be a terrible surprise party?" Jun chuckled softly.
Sho just smirked and locked the door behind them.
~~~~~~~~~
"Happy Birthday Nino!" The four ment cheered in sync.
"You guys, thank you so much." Nino pushed his bangs out of his eyes, covering up a blush.
Sho's eyes met his and he pulled Nino aside slowly. Sho gave a small box to Nino. Nino smiled, leaning in to kiss Sho gently. The other man's arms wrapped perfectly around his waist, snug and easy. Nino hummed a bit, remembering the other men's eyes on them.
"This is for you, Kazu. I love you." Sho kissed Nino's cheek.
Nino unwrapped the tiny box carefully. The ribbon was soft and golden-colored, the box itself a deep burgundy color. If it was from Sho, it had to be something special. Nino held his breath as the top came off, wondering how much time the older man had taken to pick it out. He gasped.
"It's gorgeous." Nino stared at the platinum ring, trying it on different fingers.
"It's a wedding ring. Happy birthday Kazu." Sho smiled gently.
Some light could come from darkness; if you only wait for it.
