If being back on the island was strange, ending up in this apartment was even stranger. Aly didn't mind at all really. She'd gotten used to the extra space of her rooms at the palace, and when Lianna came to visit, the spare room would be useful

Roy hadn't really been expecting to come back to Fandom this fast. Some part of him was looking for Hughes, even if he knew he'd not find his friend here this time around.

There was a certain sense of nostalgia as he made his way up the stairs, his feet knowing the way without him needing to direct them. He'd laughed when he'd read where she'd be staying and he couldn't resist the visit. Not that he'd told Aly he would be coming, that would ruin half of the fun of it.

It was a shame he didn't have his old key anymore, but then it was a bad idea to break in when a spy girl with too many knives was waiting on the other end of the door. So he knocked, like any normal person does.

The thumpity thump of large cat feet tumbled to a stop on the other side of the door, and Aly opened it soon after.

Her surprise was quickly masked by a broad grin at his arrival. "Well. Look who the cat dragged in."

"She missed me," Roy said instantly, unable to keep from grinning right back at her. "You've got the wrong apartment."

"And yet you found me anyway," she teased. "I don't know if that's creepy or adorable."

The cats were attacking Roy's feet in their demands for petting.

"I have my sources," he chuckled and leaned down to stop the mayhap they were causing. He liked his pants without holes. Next thing he had his arms full with cat, not that it'd last long with Ow. "You'd be disappointed in me if I didn't find you."

Now that his arms were full, Aly was stealing a kiss, avoiding smushing the cats. "You're probably right."

"Not to mention that I would be in a foul mood having travelled all the way up and not getting rewarded for it," he stepped inside the door, moving closer to see if there were more kisses to steal.

"You think you're getting rewarded for it?" she teased, leaning around him to push the door closed.

"No, I know I am," he said. Ow was already struggling and Roy leaned down to let the cat jump away. Dee, however, remained purring as always, content to mess up his uniform.

Aly chuckled, smiling fondly at both Roy and the completely happy Dee. "You might be right. But you can come in first. See if you remember your apartment."

"My memory isn't that bad," he assured her, moving further into the room and sidestepping the many knives. "Even if I distinctly remember sleeping more in your apartment than in mine."

"This one has more space now that it's not filled with your books," she pointed out.

He raised an eyebrow at her. "There is nothing wrong with books," he argued. There wasn't and he had cat hair on his eyepatch now.

"I didn't say anything was wrong with books," Aly replied placidly though her eyes were twinkling with amusement. "I have books. They're still in boxes."

[light_a_spark]

"Good then," he chuckled and turned towards her. "I was planning on offering you my services are redecorator," he said. "Think you could use me?"

"I'd like that if you don't have many, many more important things to do, General," she teased.
