Through the Downtown of Central, Amestris - Tuesday

Aly had promised Lianna a day of wandering through the city.  They'd spent the morning playing the games they played in every city - memorising the streets and people and racing each other back to noted points.  Notably absent from the games were both pickpocketing and lock picking.  Some things probably shouldn't happen in foreign cities

Roy blinked and shot Aly a look. "That really wasn't what I was expecting her to say."

"What were you expecting her to say?" Aly asked innocently, seemingly unconcerned by Lianna's direction.

"Anything but that really," he said. "Mama, there's a man selling balloons. Mama, I want a waffle or an ice cream." Even if it was too cold for ice creams. "Not, mama, there's a baby elephant moving through Central in the snow."

She chuckled, shaking her head as she watched the crowd of shoppers. "Maybe it's code."

"So what's it code for?" Roy asked, "because most code I know involves women's names and dates." Except for that one code he'd come up with with the Lieutenant.

"Code for a baby elephant," Aly laughed and pointed to what looked like a circus act parading down the street ahead.

"That's..." he frowned. "We're not at Fandom, right? Aren't those animals cold?"

"Probably," Aly said, making a face. "I am. Can't imagine why they wouldn't be." She shrugged. "The horses look well though."

"They seem to be well everywhere," Roy remarked, still not having too much love for them. "Do you think Lianna would want to go?"

"Only cause you don't like them," she teased. "And maybe? She might try to steal a monkey."

Roy frowned. "Let's wait until right before you're leaving then," he decided.

She snickered, squeezing Roy's arm lightly. "I think I can keep my eight year old daughter from stealing a monkey."

"Are you sure?" he asked. "She might dress it up as one of the cats and you'd never be able to tell."

"Yes," she deadpanned. "I'll never be able to tell that there are now three cats instead of two."

"She'd leave Dee with me," Roy reasoned, slowing as the passed by one of the many jewelry store. He smirked and tugged Aly with him to look at the displays.

"There is no way Lianna is going to leave Dee in your hands," Aly told him, trying not to laugh at the thought. She raised an eyebrow as he slowed and glanced in the windows. "Planning a heist?" she asked archly.
