Pirate's Swoop, Tortall - Tuesday Evening

Nov 24, 2009 18:03

Aly was slightly amused to be back in Tortall for Thanksgiving. It was another one of those holidays that her Da had implemented at the Swoop, and the villagers had taken to it with a passion. Even though the famines had been about thirty years ago, they were remembered, and each harvest was celebrated and blessed because it meant another winter ( Read more... )

Of course it had been snowing in Briggs. When didn't it? And really, there was no better way to end a 12 hour train ride than to wade through inches of snow. His hair was wet and the shoulders of his trench coat were still white when he stepped through. It wouldn't stay all that long as the warmer rain would melt it instantly.

He didn't notice Aly straight off, the change of scenery catching his attention first. He definitely wasn't in Amestris anymore and it wasn't like the Copper Isles at all.

Aly would've been disappointed if anyone noticed her straight off. At least any time she didn't want to be noticed straight off.

Instead she leaned back against a tree, waiting to see what exactly he'd do next.

He stayed still for a moment, staring up at the castle and quite possible considering exactly who he'd get to meet. His hand idly came up, flicking some of the melting snow off his hair while he glanced around.

A smile curved his lips when he noticed her and he instantly moved towards her. "Here I thought I might have to joust a knight to gain entrance to your castle." Her parents' castle, same difference. It was home to her.

Aly smiled back, eyes moving over him quickly, making sure he was okay, and she waited for him, hoping all that snow'd be done melting before he got near enough to touch. "Only knight here's my mother," she teased. "But, you know, go for it if you wanna fall on your ass a lot."

"I am far too intimidated by your mother to challenge her to a dual," Roy assured her. Which wasn't entirely true, neither was it false however.

"Hey you," he said more gently when he stepped right into her personal space. The snow was gone, but his nose was still like ice and the cold seemed to be sticking to his coat. His voice, on the other hand, was warm.

Smirking, Aly leaned up to wrap her arms around his neck, shivering just a bit at the cold. "I've been expecting you."

He grinned and his arms wrapped around her. "I was hoping you wouldn't have forgotten about me," he teased. There was only so much he could say before he had to kiss her long and hard. Without the chance of getting caught by family.

He wasn't going to think about that either.

"Thought about letting you find your own way," she murmured softly, just before she kissed him back.

They didn't have to worry about getting caught. Aly'd been kissing boys in secret at Pirate's Swoop since she was twelve years old, and she knew all the best spots. Which didn't mean she wasn't going to take advantage of this particular moment to draw that kiss out for a good long time, her fingers sliding up into his hair.

He wouldn't mind testing all those spots to figure out the one that worked best for them. He didn't mind a whole lot if it involved kissing Aly.

"Good you didn't risk it," he whispered when he drew back. His nose was slightly warmer as he nuzzled her cheek. "I might not have noticed the huge castle."

It didn't stop Aly from drawing back teasingly. "You're freezing," she complained. "Your brain might have frozen until the Swoop was too hard to see."

He laughed and his hands slid down her waist. "And you came to warm me up?"

"Nah, I came to make sure you didn't get lost," Aly teased.

"So the warming up is a perk?" he drew back now, his hand reaching for hers as he glanced up the hill. "So it isn't that way?"

She tugged him closer again as soon as he had her hand. "That eager to perform for the family?" she teased.

He made a face at her. Like she didn't know how he felt about this. "I can't believe you're taking me home to meet the family."

Even if he'd met some of them already. It was the principle of the thing.

"You wanted to come visit," Aly pointed out. "It was your choice..."
