A smile curved his lips when he noticed her and he instantly moved towards her. "Here I thought I might have to joust a knight to gain entrance to your castle." Her parents' castle, same difference. It was home to her.

"Hey you," he said more gently when he stepped right into her personal space. The snow was gone, but his nose was still like ice and the cold seemed to be sticking to his coat. His voice, on the other hand, was warm.

They didn't have to worry about getting caught. Aly'd been kissing boys in secret at Pirate's Swoop since she was twelve years old, and she knew all the best spots. Which didn't mean she wasn't going to take advantage of this particular moment to draw that kiss out for a good long time, her fingers sliding up into his hair.
