Assateague Island National Seashore - Saturday

It was windy but not terribly cold on the beaches, and Aly was enjoying the sun and almost untouched quality of the island.  She hadn't spotted any horses yet, but it was only a matter of time.

With a smile, she turned to Roy.  "So was this what you were thinking of when you said somewhere with a beach?"

He grinned and pulled her closer against him. "Well, maybe something a bit warmer but it works fine," he teased.

"You should be more specific next time," Aly informed him, slipping her arm around his waist.

He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. "I don't care about the temperature. I'll get you warm soon enough."

Aly rolled her eyes. "You've been a General for too long if you think that kind of line will fly."

"It's not about the line," he argued. "It's about actually doing it and I will," he leaned down to kiss her cheek. "You know it too."

"Sure but the line is the promise," she said. "And it's an important part of the whole experience."

"And yet, the line will work," he pointed out.

"It'd serve you right if it didn't," Aly grumbled.

He raised an eyebrow and leaned his head down, brushing his lips over her ear teasingly before he spoke. "You'd regret it if you didn't take advantage of my being here."

She stretched into the touch, a smile curving her lips. "And yet it's making you smug."

"Why shouldn't I be smug?" he asked, sliding his hands down her back. "Haven't you seen the jealous looks I've been getting all day?"

"There have been looks?" she asked innocently.

"You know there have been," he said instantly, his hands settling on her hips.

Aly smirked as she turned into him. "I don't remember any..."

"That's because you only have eyes for me," he decided, brushing a kiss over her cheek.

"Keep telling yourself that," she teased, turning to kiss him back.
