yesterday evening i spent an hour and a half painting a full-face mask at the buddha's birthday celebration festival at southbank. the woman who was running the activity kept coming over and telling me how beautiful it was, and half of the kids who were doing the activity as well stopped and stared at one point. when it was finished, the vendor told me quite lavishly that it looked like a chinese opera mask, to which i bumbled out a thank you. i'll post better pictures later, but here's one the floozy took when it was done;
