alright so yeah, its been about a month since ive last updated, and what a month it has been.
im currently taking a "leave of absence" from fridays due to finals and seussical....what that basically means is that they still continue to shcedule me for shitty shifts and i continue to oput up with it, even though im not supposed to have to work. anyway, i put up with it because i will be poor if i dont!
so anyway, last weekend was opening weekend of seussical. friday night went quite sloppily but we definitely redeemed ourselves on saturday and i was actually quite pleased. there were times in the run that i actually sat back and was able to enjoy the show, even after having seen it every day for the past 2 or 3 months. so ok, what do we do at night after the show ends? good question. friday night my under 21 cast members decided "were going to go to fridays!!!" so i immediately told them half truthfully that im not allowed to hang out at fridays. granted, i needed a drink so i really was truthing, but yeah. i informed them that at 11 pm on a friday night the last thing any of the servers wanted was a party of 25 obnoxious, loud theatre people covered in crazy weird makeup and not drinking alcohol. but alas they wanted fridays so they went. meanwhile the 8 other OLDER folks and myself went to cherry hill fridays, since i can have a drink there, eat bad for me but oh so yummy food, and get 50% off, while still remaining the most popular girl in school :)
they seemed shocked that i can walk into a place and have half the staff recognize me and come over to see how im doing, and in turn also give me free things. i just find it normal :) but i do appreciate it!
so then on saturday night my director, her husband, and their sister/lesbian live in wife person wanted to go get hammered....so i suggested the ever popular jays elbow room and they agreed. well, as if they thought knowing peole at fridays was strange, they were in awe of my jays following...which most just find pathetic. by the time we walked in there were drinks and chicken fingers at my table, and a waitress waiting to see how my show had been and wondering where id been all week!
so then sundays performance rolled around and went off without a hitch....except for, oh wait! the guitar player showed up an hour late, and kicked out my dimmers so i lost a few lights during the performance. wooppeee!
anyway, now its time for finals and im loving rutgers for their policy, "no classes the week before finals" yayy! not as if im going to spend that week studying, but its nice of them to offer me the opportunity!
