it's been a long while
she says with a smile
and i'm drawn in
curled in bed
eyes shut resisting
i don't need this
but it is so hard
to keep moving somtimes
so hard not to go back
to such familiar ground.
and there is water swirling
reaching for me with its babble.
i always knew i'd drown
but still i hoped
for something bigger.
