They have a habit of getting royally screwed up lately.
But before all that, the one thing that I finally DID get to do -
Pageturner - the all Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss on Criminal Minds) Dreamwidth group. I tried to create the same on LJ, but the name is already taken. If anyone has a suggestion for a group name for LJ or would like to co-mod them with me... just poke.
EDIT - the wonderful
divinejoker gave me a name for the LJ sister group -
brewster_a_week.
ANYWAY....
Yesterday the Salvation Army was supposed to come to my house between 8-noon to pick up a couch and some other stuff to make room for new couch and clear out some junk that we probably shouldn't have bothered moving, but did.
At 1:30 Mom called them to find out wtf. They had a bunch of pickups and had 'reversed their route' but were on their way.
At 4:30 *I* called to find out wtf. Yeah, they're not coming. But they don't bother to CALL US to let us know. So we effectively stayed home and didn't start new projects so that we would be there and not in the way of the people moving the big heavy shit, only to have them now show and our day to be wasted. So we met a couple from church at McDonalds and bitched over coffee, then grabbed Chinese on the way home.
Today, I was supposed to go over and hang out with the wonderful
deaniebtvs (who, incidentally, is NOT my hot lesbian lover for anyone curious... I only wish my sex life were that active -- and for those of you who don't get that... it's a story I shall HAVE to go into at a later date). Of course I woke up with a headache and just felt BLAH.
Dropped Mom off at her bingo outing and after making sure it was ok with
deaniebtvs we put off our get-together till next weekend and I crashed for a nap. Woke up feeling only marginally better and FRUSTRATED with that. So after playing around on Facebook for a bit (MaffiaWars is seriously addictive), I decided screw this, I'm taking the bike out while it's not raining.
It was cool and overcast (to the point where I thought I was going to get poured on at one point) but I managed to not only bike, but push myself an extra mile on the way out - so I did 6 miles round trip rather than my usual 4. And scarily enough I feel a bit better.
One cool point of note for the science geeks (cause I know there are NONE of them on my flist *rolls eyes*): LOTS of animal life out on warm, breezy, overcast days. In addition to the usual plethora of birds, and the four pre-pubescent boys swimming in the creek, I saw... a dog, a cat, 2 groundhogs chasing each other, several bunnies, and this guy -
http://www.outdoorsalabama.net/watchable-wildlife/what/Reptiles/Snakes/eis.cfm - who is apparently no longer indigenous to the state but has been re-introduced. So I'm thinking it's pretty cool that I saw him out on the biking trail.
