TennisBoy and the tennis team started the first round of the NCAA's. I went and watched to first round match on Friday and they won! Then later that day, I went to the Event Director's place for a after-ride party. Since the Shiner Ride is all finished up, the event director hosted a little after-ride party. It was good to get to see everyone in a nice relaxed environment. Nancy and Jon put on a great party and the food was absolutely delicious!! Even the Sangria was good!
Friday night
mojojoey and G-Dog showed up to stay for the weekend since she was racing The Rookie as well.
Saturday we all woke up really early for the race. I ended up getting 4th in my age group. Emily, one of the girls who trains with TxFe, finished just in front of me. She said she saw me on the run course, thoght to herself, "Damn, she is flying!" She thought I was going to catch her...I was trying to ;-) For such a short race, and b/c I am lazy, I don't think I'll write a race report. I will say that it was fun, and I forgot how much it hurt to go fast. My swim demons decided to visit me, even on a stupid 300m swim. Could someone just tell my demons to take a hike?
I spent the rest of the time at The Rookie, working at my new, part-time job. The job that hopefully will get me out of corporate america in about 2 years. I am the new Event Coordinator/Marketing person for Adavanced Rehab. So next race, come on by the ART tents and say hi (and sign up to get worked on). I am still pretty excited about the new opportunity :-D
Saturday afternoon, Tennis Boy and the Tennis team were playing in the second round of the NCAA's and to everyone's surprise, they won!!! Saturday night, my parents came into town for a party at a friends house. It was called the Extended Lopez Family party, since my parents adopted quite a few friends when we were in IM CDA last year. Mom and Dad got to see Tennis Boy for the second time since we've been dating (once the first time around and once the second time around). Sunday I went out for a trail run with
mojojoey. She hadn't been to the green belt before, and that's my favorite plac to run. Then we went to Taco Deli w/ G-Dog for lunch.
Sunday, Tennis Boy asked me if I wanted to play golf with him in the afternoon. My eyes lit up like a little kid's in a candy store. I couldn't wait! We went to Lions Municipal and played the front 9 with 2 college guys. We had a great time and you know what, my game really is coming along quite nicely. We finished up the evening with dinner at Maudie's. Mmmmm!
Such a packed weekend...
