[Mia has the good instincts to twist so that she doesn't hit the pavement full-on with her back or neck, but that doesn't make the impact any lighter. Instead, there's a sickening crack, and then the full impact of searing pain up her whole arm that causes her to scream.]

[She has to know. What happened to Jill, why she's like this now. It'd be different if someone Mia considered her enemy had done this to her. But Jill... Jill was supposed to be a friend.]
