I really hate our Democratic Congress.
I don't even want to claim it as "our" Democratic Congress, because I don't believe it truly represents the voices of the American people.
Yes, yes, I know. Another Congress rant. Just....all kinds of grrr. Do you know what happened at 2am this morning in the House of Representatives? Do you???? Well go find out.
The worst part of all this is that the American public seems to be oblivious to what's really happening with the world and with our own government. And what happened at 2am wasn't really all about procedural issues, or Democrats acting like violent children, even though those are part of it. This is really about a culture war that America has been fighting-or, dare I say, already lost-about illegal immigration and bilingualism.
Did you know that Nancy Pelosi's husband owns a bunch of vineyards in California? Now, do you know who he hires to work the vineyards? ............"undocumented" immigrants, "undocumented" being the euphemism of choice for "illegal." And where was Madam Speaker at 2am when the House was up in arms???
I made my Dad laugh today when I insisted that I would employ the ACLU to defend my freedom of expression to write hate mail to Nancy Pelosi.
I wouldn't actually do that, but it is a funny thought.
As for illegal immigration, I don't have the energy to rant about it now, despite my dread of bilingualism. Just take a look around, next time you go out. You have your options of everything in either English or Spanish. My shampoo bottle even reminds me of the strength of Hispanic influence in the United States. I do not like this trend, and it's not because I'm a racist or ethnocentrist. I can even speak Spanish. It's just infuriating to me.
