I finally have my voice back! Woo! *Howls* *Cough cough* Ok, maybe I should take it a little easier.
I caught a bad cold from over New Year's break where I lost my voice from Monday to today. Oh well, I'm finally going to make a full day at work today.
New Years was actually pretty quiet for me. Dorian, Eddie, and I made it up to Phoenix area by 9 PM. After dropping them all off I went to Tim's place since she said I could stay there and watch her cat. I wound up talking to Ethan and Yadi, watching the symphony on PBS, and calling it a night by 12:30. I just didn't feel like getting up and driving to be crammed in with a bunch of other people somewhere.
New Year's day I went shopping and found a rain jacket for my trip in a couple weeks. Met up with an online friend as well and after telling him off about culture differences we eventually got along (he was going on about my arm hair so I finally got after him that his wookie body shouldn't be talking. That was some serious fur!) Went out with my older sister and her family to a good brewery and awesome bugers mmmm.
Friday I hung out with Al. We went to the Heard Museum, a Native museum in Phx with a good collection from the 21 federally recognized tribes in AZ. I bought a jack rabbit puppet to harass Alle along the way. After that we picked up Yadi at the Phoenix greyhound since her mom told her to go do something and Yadi just got over her cold. Later on I picked up my oldest sis and we hit a couple places just to hang out. She was actually surprised and shocked to not be driving that she had a decent amount to drink. I think she had a good time.
Saturday I dragged Yadi around shopping. She also needed a jacket for our trip. I think she had fun, if not she sure had a lot of bags for someone who claims to not like shopping. We even bought foam swords and toy guns at Kay Bee's closing sale to beat each other with. Oh yes, we're so adult-like. I eventually took her to Charlie's (gay cowboy bar) and she had a blast. We had fun watching people dance to Western music.
We made it home by Sunday evening.
Tuesday she dropped by the house. She felt a little guilty that I caught her cold and wanted to keep me company for a while. Tuesday was also our 1 month so we had plans to go out that night but instead we sat at the house and watched a movie. We've been together for a month now and as of today started talking 3 months ago. I'm very happy to be with her. :)
Oh and our trip is in 13 days, yay!
Other than that not too much else happening. Speak Out might be doing a campus function next week as part of a Welcome Back celebration AWC is doing but I can't get a hold of the organizer to confirm. SFSU waived my application fee and I just need to prove CA residency (again) and we'll see how my admission goes. Work is...work. Actually work's been stressful because of 2 cases that've been going on for a while so some members are trying to get some of the court judges and staff out. Bleh. Annual Wage Increases are on hold until who knows when due to the economy, which sucks but hey, at least I still have my job right?
Softball game tomorrow at 9 am. Woo! ...I am so out of shape.
Plus our "WHAT!!!" team missed registration so we're doubling up with "One Nation" for the season. Ugh. Ha ha oh well.
