YAy! BM-ish gig!
We had this random bellydance gig fall into our laps the other day. A Burner and some of his Burner and Burner-ro-be friends are having a rooftop party Saturday, and we are going to be the entertainment. It's an oasis kind of theme, and apparently the roof will be deorated and heated. I am interested in seeing what it will be like. (Oh sometimes I just SO miss Burningman...I need MONEY!)
I dig gigs like this, so I am really looking forward to it. I know the other gals could take it or leave it, but I am glad they are going along with it becuase I think they will end up enjoying it. It seems to me the crowd will be the type to appreciate what we do. I for one plan to have a VERY good time. *harumph* ;)
On a somewhat related note, we now have our new troupe members chosen and notified. Last night was the last night of the second phase of the auditions, and as of a series of phone calls this morning, we now have four new members, bringing us to a grand total of seven dancers. Only Renee and Michelle and I are doing this weekend's gig, but next Saturday the new gals will take to the stage for Hafla Shaqiq for a short introduction dance of their own making. I am looking forward to sharing with them, learning from them, garnering mutual inspiration, and just generally Raq-ing together. I am very excited about our new dynamic, and look forward to seeing what will come of it. Already I am more jazzed about Med Fest because our greater numbers will allow us to do some very different stuff! Send us good vibes for a harmonious and mutually beneficial troupe experience.
